Youth LeadershipGrade 6-12
Every student has the potential to be a leader, parents and teachers have the responsibility to establish a learning climate that nurtures their growth as self-sufficient, engaged citizens, and to develop their leadership skills. We empower students and provides them with the knowledge and skills to take control of their lives, providing all students with leadership opportunities helps them grow into responsible adults.
Social psychologist Martin Chemers defines leadership as “a process of social influence in which a person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task.” Isn’t that a skill we would like all our students to have? When students have the opportunity to lead, they become architects of their futures and change agents in their schools and communities. Adults sometimes doubt the readiness of young adolescents to be leaders—or perhaps they are apprehensive about what will happen if they share the mantle of leadership with students.
The program is aimed at promoting and supporting youth as leaders, to be responsible, encouraging youth to look at leadership in context and to find value in different attitudes and definitions of leadership. This life-changing curriculum focuses on youth as leaders, introduce youth to a variety of leadership styles and models – real or historical.
Students can deeply understand the essence of leadership, enhance their independence, judgment, learning ability, adaptability and observation skills, preparing them for future success.
The program is designed for all children in secondary school who want to develop leadership skills from childhood.
